Jess and Kat behind the Inclusive Play Co. table at a Sault Ste. Marie market, with sensory kits and fidgets laid out in front of them.

It started with one question and a lot of conversations

Hi, we're Jess and Kat. Inclusive Play Co. started with a shared passion for inclusion and one big question: how do we offer sensory items and support regulation in a way that works for everybody? We come at that question from different sides. Jess has spent years in classrooms supporting students with diverse learning and sensory needs, and Kat's understanding comes from lived experience as a parent of a daughter with autism. Somewhere in all those conversations, we realized we were describing the same thing.
Finding good sensory tools around here has never been simple. You order online and hope the chew is the right strength, or you drive hours to see anything in person, or you buy three versions of the same fidget before you find the one that actually helps. There is rarely a chance to touch something first, and almost never someone to ask. So we decided to become that: a small local shop carrying only the products we would confidently use ourselves and recommend to the people we care about.
We're starting small, and we're proud of that. Every product here earned its place.
Right now you will find us at markets and community events around Algoma, and here online, with curated sensory products, natural play materials, fidgets, calming tools, and ready-to-go kits. We are still learning, still adding, still asking questions. More than anything, we hope this becomes a welcoming community where questions are encouraged, ideas are shared, and every person feels seen, respected, and included. Thank you for being here at the very beginning.
Jess
Co-founder. Ontario Certified Teacher and Special Education Specialist.
Jess has spent years supporting students with diverse learning and sensory needs. She is the one asking whether a tool holds up in a real classroom, on a real school day.
Kat
Co-founder. Parent and autism community advocate.
Kat's approach comes from raising a daughter with autism and years in the autism community. She is the one asking whether it holds up at home, at 7 a.m., on a hard morning.
